anguage
dvelops through interactive human relationships.
n
addition to listening to HIPPO tapes, we get together in community-based
clubs at least once a week to share the sounds of language we are
collecting from the tapes. We play games, sing songs, dance, and speak
with each other in the various languages. We absorb both new sounds
and important context from our friends and family at the club meetings,
which are attended by people of all ages.
he
aim of HIPPO activities is not necessarily to "master" the
languages, but to enjoy the process of self-discovery as we make new
friends, strengthen family ties, and explore the world through language.
s
HIPPO members, we can attend any HIPPO Club, anywhere in the world,
at any time. The more we participate, the more friends we meet, and
the more opportunities we have to come in contact with many languages.
